I've had a pair of a40 headphones for a few years now (my first pair died after about 2 years of heavy use and the mic just stopped working). This will be my second pair. They are great for Call of Duty games because of the surround sound and audio clarity. I would recommend them if the $100+ price tag doesn't put you off. As a side note, when I first bought them, I bought them along with Mixamp, which I don't think is necessary at all. In fact, I could never figure out what the point of a mixer was because whether I connected it directly through a controller without a mixer, or through an optical cable and a mixer, it produced the same sound quality and volume. for me and so I don't think you really need it. Someone else may have a different take on this for you to investigate further, but that's what I would say about the Mixamp.
