Review on Armor All AASMVC88100 Charcoal Vehicle by James Gregg

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very good! for tools and equipment

My wife and I recently covered our garage floor in epoxy, it was a lot of work but it was worth it! Even the best epoxies will eventually discolor where the tires pass, leaving yellow stains in the garage. To counteract this, I bought this mat. The photos were taken minutes after you took it out of the box and laid it out. Several reviews state that they had issues with corners not laying flat, using double sided tape, being too thin, etc. I've had none of these issues and I don't think it's too thin for the purpose I bought it for is. As long as you don't try to over adjust the steering wheel, the mat will stay in place. I really like that it's thin and easy to use and lay out to your liking. The rubber backing is nice and seems to be holding the epoxy well. Time will tell how this holds up over the winter but what I really need is to protect the epoxy from direct contact with the tires. If it holds up I'll buy another one for the other side of the garage. In the meantime I will update this review as well. UPDATE: After having the first one all summer, I bought a second one for the other side of the garage. I thought it did a great job of protecting the epoxy, as you can see I've added a picture with the first rug I bought showing the bare floor. It is true that you can wash the rug as directed, I just did it this morning and it came off nicely. You might notice a difference between the rug I had over the summer and the one I just bought as the first one has faded a bit, but that's not a deal breaker. The real test will be to see how they survive the winter. I'll post another update in the spring when I clean them up. My recommendation stands. SECOND UPDATE: I still really like these rugs. Although after two winters I had a hard time getting all of the Midwest salt out with a pressure washer as they absorb a ton of water. Wear and tear and repeated washing seemed to wear down the rug and it definitely didn't look as good as it did when new. Anyone dealing with heavy municipal salt in the winter will have to put more effort into maintaining these mats. If you live in a climate where it mostly rains, you will get a lot more life out of it. I still like them and recently bought a replacement. Finally, the mat holds up to the wear and tear and helps protect the epoxy, which is what I wanted.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
