Eventually I broke down and spent $13 on a Durascoop toilet scoop. I have carpal tunnel infection in my dominant hand right now and after using it once I could tell how durable it is. How much easier it became to rake. So I bought more because you never have just one litter box. And I don't lug a ball of trash around the house with me every day. These came on sale and were half the price so I bought them instead. What was wrong. As I used them, I felt the grip where the metal ends. It feels like I really have to dig through the garbage. It feels like the handle is just as likely to break after the metal is used up as any plastic scoop is to snap in half. Don't waste money on them. You can only return them unused and you don't realize how fragile they are when not in use. I already bought the Durascoops I was supposed to buy and I've had these two days.
