These gloves are warm enough to keep your hands comfortable outside in cold temperatures. The fall weather was in the 30's and 40's and these gloves kept my hands warm outside. They have a fleece outer shell and a Thinsulate inner lining. It's a thin layer of fabric similar to fleece but thinner. The combination of both keeps you warm. The wrist is fitted so they hold up well and keep the heat inside. The palm, thumb and forefinger are covered in grippy, textured material so you can hold objects without dropping them. This is not a soft pen. The gloves are neither too thick nor too thin. Too thick and it would be difficult to lift and manipulate items. Too thin and your hands get too cold. In my opinion, the thickness is just right for outdoor activities in autumn temperatures, but not for sub-zero temperatures. This is not a work glove material, so you probably won't be using it for stacking firewood or other tasks that require a more durable material. There are clips so you can keep the gloves together when not in use. The fit is good, not too tight and not too loose. The installation guide in the product list will be helpful.
