Review on ๐Ÿ”ช Mac Knife 6.5 Inch Japanese Series Vegetable Cleaver Review: Sleek Silver Cleaver Perfect for Your Kitchen by Jamel Ochoa

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not as good as the old Mac knives.

The Macs were good, I should know, I have three of them - this one, not that many. We have a lot of Mac knives in our knife block. When it came time to buy another knife, I really wanted a different Mac, but a Usuba-style paring knife. I was expecting a regular razor sharp blade and a regular premium Mac fit and finish. The one I received had a terrible fit at the junction of the blade and hilt. The blade protruded above and below the hilt, right where it was held most. Even the handle rivets weren't as smooth as on all my other Mac knives. If you think I'm too picky, I often use knives in the kitchen. I wanted this knife for slicing and preparing fruit when we make jams and preserves so it's going to be A LOT in my hands, if bits stick out at the handle they'll rub and cause blisters which isn't great when you're cutting stuff like this, like citrus or other things that can be slightly acidic. I don't expect $90 perfection, but I do expect the pen to be smooth and clean, which is why I bought a Mac. Not very happy with that.

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Can I add something?
