Short review. It's an SSD and it works. Extra: This review is for those thinking of upgrading an older iPod. (My attached photos show I'm using Rockbox and no stock Apple firmware). I bought this to upgrade my 5th generation iPod Video. 30GB wasn't enough for me, and those 128GB was enough free space to store my music collection as well as podcasts and audiobooks. I have over 11,000 songs (not counting podcasts and audiobooks) and I *strongly* recommend if you really have a lot of music to install Rockbox and listen to music with it, since Apple's stock firmware lags way behind at around 7000 on an SSD. If your music doesn't have album art attached, it will run faster, but lots of music and album art will slow it down a lot. Opening an iPod isn't easy, but if you're careful you can do it, you won't break anything. This might take a while. After installing the SSD and turning your iPod back on, simply connect it to your PC with iTunes open and it will prompt you to restore it. After that, you now have a 128GB solid state iPod Video (actual storage is 118GB). As said, it might be advisable to use Rockbox if you have a lot of music, after playing with the default software it gets pretty sluggish. when watching music and mixing takes a little. It also takes a few minutes before "Do not deactivate" does not appear when removed from the PC. It may be advisable to install Rockbox before adding music.
