I was very pleased when I received this item. First the logistics: I received the knife roll on time, as stated in Revane's information. The reel was properly packaged for shipment. Aesthetics: This reel is very attractive. It opens for easy full access. Utility: I was a bit concerned about the storage design since my knife handles fit sleeves rather than blades. In fact, I've found this to be the best method since knife handles are usually the same, while knife blades can vary in width even across knives of the same type (e.g. chef's knives). I solved the exposed blade issue by purchasing additional blade guards. I was also concerned if my OXO cutting knife would fit as it is so long. I tilted the knife a little and it came up. Three slits were closed with an additional fabric valve that was attached with Velcro. I liked this arrangement as it protected the blades while keeping the reel somewhat compact. There is enough space to pack additional components for my knives. Finally, the "folding" of the reel is provided by the currently popular buckles, not just Velcro. Personally, I prefer this method because it allows you to securely fix the roll despite storing many knives.
