Cast iron pan is fine but the surface is incredibly rough
Before you tell me all cast irons are like this, they aren't. I've had several grades of cast iron before and none come close to being as rough. The bottom is fine, but the sides are so rough that they pull fibers from my kitchen towels when I clean or oil the pan. You can forget about using a paper towel to wipe or season. I had to go to a hardware store, buy extremely low grit sandpaper and hand sand it for two hours to get it to a similar condition to other brands. . Now it works perfectly and I can just wipe it down with paper towels.
