These natural stones are ok. I especially like the 3 carat ruby stone, but the problem is that not all stones are the same thickness. With fixed-angle sharpeners, which is where they're most commonly used, changing the thickness of the stone changes the angle. So the angle will change as you go through the grain, unless you're missing grains of a different thickness. Measure your set and group grains of the same thickness. Otherwise they will not sharpen properly. Better yet, just get diamonds that are the same thickness from one grit to the next. They work much better. As others have pointed out, they tend to delaminate due to the poor glue used to bond the stone to the plastic base.
