The name of the product is misleading, there is nothing in the design that stops the flow of liquid. It is essentially a lockable cap that requires a cork or other cork to prevent the bottle from leaking. However, this is a good way to protect the bottle so that it cannot be opened without knowing the three-digit locking code. If you have someone - a kid, roommate, etc. - that you don't want to put in a bottle, this is a good tool to block them. The code is set to 000 and can easily be changed to another. A very good product for what it does.
