This material is junk if you intend to use it for its intended purpose in the "Navy". I installed my boat completely and as an electrician made sure I take my time and do everything right. All of my wires were routed in wire harnesses that were insulated with tape and all wires were terminated with high quality marine grade ferrules. After about 4 months I lost the sound from the left side of the boat. I made some corrections to the head unit and amp and nothing worked. Then I pulled out the speakers and to my utter surprise the speaker wire turned to dust. I thought ok maybe just a bad connection, I'll cut some wire, do it and seal it for real. No, the wire is rusted almost halfway, about 4 feet. Now I have to completely rewire the boat from the back of the amp because this stuff can't be trusted. In case you're wondering, this is a 1999 Hydrasport 21' Walk Around boat. The speakers certainly don't see an excessive amount of water like the center console might. 2 speakers are about 2.5 feet from the deck and 2 are about 6 inches from the deck. Both left speakers had corrosion issues, but to my surprise, the top one was the worst.
