Thin leather that allows the cleaver to easily cut the threads
Although I would buy it again, the cleaver we keep in this leather sheath cuts the threads holding the edges together, as opposed to a good, thicker-skinned sheath that doesn't allow that. Also, the thread used to hold this thing together isn't the typical heavy waxed thread commonly used for leather. The edge seam can also be easily repaired without a thimble with a normal needle and thread. You just have to be careful when putting your hatchet in this sheath.
