Review on Lansky 4 Rod Turn Knife Sharpener by Julie Weigel

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Premium sharpener

I use my knife at work three or four times a week - sometimes to sharpen a pencil, and sometimes to chop a room full of rugs into chunks. Almost all the knives I use are Kershaw because they suit my needs and budget better than brands like Gerber. When I learned how to sharpen a knife, it became absolute overkill for sharpeners. I could have gotten away with a lot less but I still recommend the Lansky Turn Box and am very glad I have it. This system turns the knife into a clean, sharp blade in just a few pulls, and if you like doing things on your own then this system is for you. I like this system a lot more as a V-groove grinder because I'm no longer running or wandering around in the bush where simplicity is more important than form. (At home, I can afford a bit of complexity with this system.) One piece of advice I have is that it's important to clean the bars. The cleaner you keep your rods, the easier it is to keep a really sharp blade. Take care of your tools and they will take care of you. You can find replacement sticks with different textures at Revain if you find they don't meet your needs.
