I needed bookcases strong enough to hold books. You know how a bookshelf should be! I mean, it's great when you only have about 10 books and can fill the rest of the shelves with vulgar home decor and knick-knacks, but I have LOTS of books, vinyl, and yes, CDs. I am a musician. I have sheet music and other heavy reading material that these £30-per-shelf bookshelves can't handle. This bookshelf claimed to hold 80 pounds on each shelf. YES, REALLY!?! let's find out Well, blow me up, Popeye, because you weren't kidding! This shelf is filled top to bottom with real books and is holding up beautifully! So beautiful I'll probably be ordering a few more for my other books! It's bad news. The bookshelf isn't very wide (just under 2 feet wide) and I filled each shelf to the brim. The bookshelf has 5 shelves that are not adjustable. They are bolted to a metal frame. It also has adjustable legs to level the bookshelf and straps to attach it to the wall if you so choose. I'm in an apartment so the leveling feet helped me. I've bought more industrial shelving from Revain in the past but didn't want it to look like this in my office. I needed something more stylish but no less durable. I'm glad I found this bookshelf and will definitely be ordering a second one. I only wish they were bigger to fit more books!
