I bought 4 of these pumps for a project. Upon unpacking I noticed that the inside of the pump head was not lubricated. Probably because it was in storage for who knows how long. So I took them all apart to grease the heads. There were metal chips in the housing of one of the pumps! I cleaned with compressed air. I assembled them all and tested them at 12 volts. The pumps will rotate counter-clockwise continuously when positive voltage is applied to the red terminal on the rear panel. You don't sound tough. They pump water. It's really quite slow, but suitable for my application.
