Broken pair of special sportswear

I bought these socks for my husband to go hiking at the weekend. He lived in them, they were very comfortable but maybe one of the three had a big hole in the sole at the toe line after 6 days of wear. I was hoping to contact the company for a replacement pair but wasn't able to, but you really expect more durability from merino wool. The socks of the Merino My Cloud line have a lifetime guarantee.
