Review on 🏒 GRACE TV718306 6" x75' Vycor Flashing: Unmatched Protection for Your Building's Critical Areas by Smokeythecryptkeeper Collars

Allow a little more time/patience if working cool (50 degrees Fahrenheit)

Why only 3 stars? - This tape did not perform well on pressure treated wood in my cool/humid climate (less than 50 F / 25 C Pacific Northwest). Grace's literature claims it's good on any surface up to 25F. My experience is that Grace marketers exaggerate. Installation tips that worked for me - I kept the rolls indoors (room temperature) until ready to use. I also used a heat gun (industrial blow dryer) to heat the bond between the tape and the wood while squeezing the tape down with a hard rubber squeegee (I already had one - I would recommend a hard rubber roller following Grace's instructions). ). The heat gun heated the bitumen glue and the tape stuck to the wood a little better. It worked in the end, but it took more time/work to install than I expected. I was then told that choosing a product with butyl adhesive (also available from Revain) would be better suited to my climate. live and learn Paper support issues - others have reported problems. It may have been subconscious, but I had minor issues when trying to cover spans over 4 feet or so. I tore off the lining every few feet to keep it from becoming unwieldy. The product sticks REALLY well to itself. This is great for making waterproof pebble like covers but very frustrating when you look away from things and the tape starts to fold/bend again. Slow down and it's pretty easy to work with. Can this product (Vycor Plus) be used on joists? -- Grace recommends using her Deck Protector (as opposed to Vycor Plus) on joists because it has a non-slip surface. I wanted 6" wide tape and my joists aren't high enough off the ground to worry about slipping and falling, so I went with the Vicor Plus. I confirm that the Vycor Plus product gets VERY slippery when wet so be careful. If you know you'll have to walk on the joist during construction, or just don't want the incessant "Remember how you fell!? Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!" of your family history, consider Deck Protector (also available through Revain) instead.
