Let me start by saying that I am not a hairdresser but I have been cutting my son's hair for 4 years and have been in isolation for myself for 9 months. I used the "W" brand set I received from the department. the store is big, noisy, wired and mostly bulky. This KIKOMO is much more comfortable. In terms of build quality, it's a good weight thanks to the metal body that inspires confidence in the hand. It's perfect for medium sized hands like mine and the grip is decent. All accessories and attachments are made of plastic and could be improved, but completely sufficient. If there was one thing I would improve it would be the attachment mechanism as I was a little afraid of breaking it the first time I changed heads. The "W" I had before seems to be slightly better in terms of sharpness. , but only slightly. Thing is a lot quieter and it can also affect whether the perceived cut is smoother. Definitely I have to do multiple passes and not once did the hair get stuck so this will definitely do the job. I didn't even have to use high power to treat my son's hair, which was soft. The reduced noise level is definitely a plus as it won't startle the kids. The bonus is that I can just take the guard off, rinse the thing under water, re-lube and it's ready to go. The great thing about my other set is that it comes with a good case and protection from 1 to 6. It comes with a good stand for everything, but I would have preferred a bag. It did come with a barber cape though, which is nice. Both my son and we are happy with this new hair clipper - two thumbs up.
