Well made, durable, safe to use questionable

This product is well made from durable materials and designed as you would expect. I'm using two of the four I originally installed at this point. The rug is held fairly flat with just two needles. I removed two more needles when my bare food was poked through her plastic face in the middle of the night. The edges are quite narrow and could potentially cut your foot if you hit the edge. The edges are curved but still quite flimsy when kicking sideways with your bare foot. If the shoes were only used for walking on mats held by these pins they would be perfectly acceptable. However, this is not what happens in reality, or should I say in the "real" world. If the plastic surfaces were slightly curved down at the edges it would solve this possible problem I was having. Just a suggestion. Area rugs, or area rugs placed on top of an existing rug, don't want to stay in place. These pins will get the job done. Thus, this product is a mix of good and potentially dangerous properties. I still use two pens not usually walking barefoot. That's all. Inserting the pins was very difficult. I used lean forward pressure and slight sideways swaying. Eventually the pins went all the way in. My fingers hurt after doing this with four pins. At least they most likely won't come out on their own. A few years ago there were spiral nails with rounded plastic heads that would attach small rugs to existing rugs by screwing them directly into the rug and upholstery. However, these plastic heads can also break and expose the end pin. Nothing seems to work perfectly.

Pros
  • Large rounded edges make it user-friendly, while the transparent surface makes it less visible.
Cons
  • So far so good
