Review on Arrow Fastener PT18G 18-Gauge Nailer by Johnny Bloomer

Good price for it. - Nailer

This is an economical nailer that is great for light work. The build quality is good, solid and serves its purpose. This is not a tool for laying or plastering floors every day. It's perfect for occasional room makeovers, picture framing, hobbies and the like. Notes: Maximum pressure in psi Air fitting, I used automotive engine oil because I had some on hand. Brads: 18 gauge, I used various lengths from Hitachi from a big mile shop. First, there is a problem with leadership and direction. They are almost non-existent and difficult to find. I couldn't find them, I searched them on Google and went to the Arrow product page. It fucking annoyed me. The tool occasionally needs a drop of oil and sometimes a very, very light mist of oil comes out with the nail. Nothing wrong with that as long as there isn't too much oil in it. I put two drops of oil in the device. This is where this guide would be very helpful for those who are new to using pneumatic nailers. How much oil (occasionally drop by drop) and where to pour it (straight into the hole in the air supply tube). I tested this tool with various lengths of Hitachi 18 gauge bolts and driven them into an old pine 2x6. The only way I've found to adjust the depth is to adjust the pressure on the regulator. This can be a serious pain. It's easiest to start with a low pressure and then move to a higher pressure so you don't have to depressurize the hose between adjustments. It's almost impossible to set the depth flush with the wood surface, but for most applications this won't matter. You can't just pull the trigger and then hit the workpiece and drive the pin in with each squeeze. Also, the cycle time is slow, probably due to the low pressure in the air hose. So this tool will get the job done, but is best suited for smaller jobs. The best tools cost about three to four times as much, require no oil, have depth adjustment, faster cycle times, and can be separated from the workpiece.

Pros
  • Works with all sizes of arrowhead nails
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
