First action with additional memory. I was looking for a new set of 16GB DRAM to limit traffic between sockets. After a power outage I went ahead and placed an order. Then I noticed that the sticks were paired, not individually. Not a big deal as in my case I had speed differences during a bad power supply on a system with slightly bad RAM. The good side: I paired the extra part in CLS 11 with a pair of CLS 9s I was using and the BIOS kicked out a lot of starts due to timing mismatch. So I connected the CLS 11 sticks anyway. After the system booted fine, I switched all the RAM from the CLS 11 to the CLS 9 at 300MHz (one stick actually ran at 260MHz) to keep the RAM in sync. I tuned all speeds for continuity. Very good response, the temperature remained nominal for the board (tested with a laser temperature sensor). Boot times have increased slightly for such an old and stable board. The calls for hard crashes remained the same (booting) as with previously installed RAM. Winning with OC was good. clustering.
