I bought three of these cables of different lengths more than a year ago. I used the shortest (10 feet) to go from the modem to the router. Everything seemed fine, speed wasn't increasing as expected until I started having problems with my mesh router system. As a result, I contacted the manufacturer of my router (Linksys, they're great, I highly recommend them) and their tech support rep checked my system and was able to find that this supposed CAT8 cable wasn't even going through the 1 Gb/s that it is able. CAT5 cable! They then tested other cables I bought from Veetcom and they all performed the same poorly. When my internet speed was tested using this "CAT8" cable between modem and router, my best internet speed (using Speedtest.net) was 95 Mbps. After replacing it with an old CAT5 cable I had lying around, the speed jumped to 417 Mbps! I have 300Mbps service but never got close until we replaced this fake Veetcom CAT8. Now I have to buy new cables. I'm learning my lesson, this time I'm going to buy it from a reputable "brick" store that sells products from real brands that you can trust.
