Using this to set up my first set of crocheted braids. Yes, they smell from the packaging, but YOU SHOULD ALWAYS WASH THE PLUG LENGTH BEFORE INSTALLING IT. Seriously, these things are coated in chemicals that make your scalp itchy. I filled the tub with vinegar and shampoo, rinsed my hair in it, and let it air dry. This eliminated the smell and the hair was still soft. And no itch after installation. Yes, the ends (like on the last inch, seen in the photo) are twisted, but only you will notice that, and it didn't bother me at all. I ordered two packs, which was just enough for a full head. I love the color and get compliments on it everywhere I've been. I wore them for about 6 weeks and they didn't unravel but started to look dull over time. I keep them for another install.
