We get a lot of "guests" in the form of shipments from USPS, UPS, FedEx, and Revain. With the current pandemic, it seems that most of our purchases are now done online rather than in stores. So I want to know when someone is on my porch and if anything is being taken or left behind that shouldn't have been. My wife decided she needed a security camera with one caveat. She didn't want to hire a security company or an electrician to install it. This camera did that perfectly. All I had to do was insert a memory card, charge the battery, download the app and drill/screw into the brick. I've only recently had this camera, but I'm very impressed with the quality of it. You can set it to standard definition or high definition, which sounds too good to be true as a general setting, but actual high definition produces a very sharp image. In addition to this setting, there's also motion detection, again with two settings: low or high. I currently have it on low and it's still picking up a bit more movement than I'd like, so I'll try adjusting the angle to see if that helps. The camera is full color in daylight and switches to night/black and white at night. There is also an intercom feature that allows you to communicate with a person through the game. The battery has been great so far. I only had to charge it once and it still works. I'm curious/worried how long this will take. With all these great features, there surely has to be something less outstanding, and that's where we come to the app. The app is not very user friendly. It's difficult to customize the alarm settings on the camera, knowing when it will alert you, what kind of alert it will send you, etc. I hope they keep improving this app, but only time will tell. For the time being I suffer with the shortcomings of the application because for this price the camera is so good.
