Review on Balaclava Winter Windproof Women Black by Kevin Wilkins

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Thin enough to fit well under a bike helmet

I use this balaclava for cycling in 35 to 45 degrees [Fahrenheit]. The underside of the face piece doesn't rotate as freely as I would expect in the illustration. However, this still allows me to use a chin-closed balaclava with an open mouth. I find that any mouth covering causes my glasses to fog up too much. If your bike helmet is well ventilated, the first thing you should do in cold weather is buy a windproof bike helmet cover like this one. The helmet cover lowers me to about 45 degrees. Adding a balaclava reduces the temperature to 35 degrees. Temperatures below 35 are too cold for me. All temperatures above assume mostly sunny conditions with no strong sustained winds.

Pros
  • Nylon Polyester
Cons
  • Easily wrinkled
