Review on πŸ”© SAE Split Die Thread Chaser by Steelman: Wheel Stud and Bolt Thread Repair Tool with Indexing Pins by Mike Phillips

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Did the job of smoothing out my striped nuts.

Using a socket wrench didn't hold it tight enough around the tip but allowed it to expand a bit. I used pliers with a vise on the side to grip them tightly to get a good cut. use some oil. My teenagers changed my studded tires and screwed in some of the lugs with an impact wrench. I've seen others have a rubber band around them in the slot. Little did I know it would keep falling to the ground while trying to position her. After the first no problem. First you need to remove the wheel to get at some good threads and then unscrew them. All in all it worked great and saved my bushings.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Operating Speed
