I have two medium to large sized dogs that used to ride in the trunk of my car but when I switched vehicles I couldn't do more and I needed them to sit in the back seat which means the back seat needed some sort of protection and I needed them to be a bit constricted and limit damage to the leather of the seat and the inside of the car doors. We have a similar product for my husband's truck but this one is better made. I like the mesh opening on the front that allows for better ventilation; the fabric is not so smooth that the dogs cannot stand up in it; The rings and clips that hold the lid to the sides are metal rather than plastic, so they don't break as easily as other similar products. However, the metal has a downside; When removing and opening the side flap so that dogs can get in and out, I have to be careful with the flap, otherwise the metal rings hit the paintwork of the car. It's not bueno, but as long as you're paying attention, it's not a problem. In a bigger car than mine (I have a Mazda 3) this probably isn't even an issue as the seat can be high enough that the valve stays in the car instead of sticking out of the door when opened. Overall very happy with this product.
