My 5 year old daughter wanted a new case for her Fire. But it had to be specifically "pink and standing". I think this case is pretty durable. It hasn't been tested yet, but we also have a Fire screen protector. The only complaint I have is that button access isn't flush, making it a bit difficult for your thumbs to reach the power and volume controls. It doesn't bother me, it just annoys me a little. Otherwise I think this is a great case for kids.
