Saved me from a tank dump on a Ford Ranger!

I am a property manager who deals with internal combustion engines (petrol and diesel) on a daily basis. I bought a GasTapper 12V fuel transfer pump/siphon to use on a Ford Ranger that had been sitting on ethanol for too long. Gaseous ethanol will degrade after a few months if not stabilized and can cause serious fuel system problems. So I had to empty the bad ethanol tank. Resetting the tank on this Ford Ranger model is a big deal and requires new gaskets and expensive parts. So I spent about a hundred bucks on a GasTapper 12V Gas Transfer Pump/Siphon and pumped out the gas! Saved me a few dirty hours under the truck and probably cost about as much as the hoses and seals I would have had to replace. Pumped out quickly, cleanly and quietly. The supplied tubing required some fiddling to bypass the anti-evaporation/siphon mechanism in the Ranger filler neck - I felt like a blind gastroenterologist doing a colonoscopy - but with a little thought and pre-bending the plastic tubing I got the hang of it. Note: After you're done pumping gasoline, especially ethanol gas, the manual very sensibly tells you to run some diesel fuel through the pump to flush out the gas and provide protection/lubrication during storage. If you do not run some diesel fuel through the pump as required and remove the GasTapper 12V fuel transfer pump/siphon after six months, do NOT expect it to work. Please follow the simple instructions and keep great tools like this off the junkyard.
