Update: I liked that these towels were absorbent enough to buy a set (red/white). For the price, they're great for mopping up spills, cleaning, in the kitchen, or anything else. Tip: Do not use fabric softener as this affects the absorbency of the fabric. Although I wouldn't call it "luxury" by any means, I love these terry towels. And at $8.99 (at the time of this review) for 6 of them I think it's a bargain; that's about or a little less than $1.50 each! What I like: I've washed and dried them and they've done both well. I measured the fabric after washing/drying in warm water/hot dryer and they came out 12 x 12 which is the size described for these fabrics I received. I don't use dryer sheets or other softeners on things that I need to soak. -- I spilled some water on my bedside table this morning - I grabbed one of these wipes and was very pleased with how quickly and well it absorbs moisture. barrack. That's a good reason for the 4 stars - lately every fabric I've gotten that says 'absorbent' doesn't seem to absorb anything and this one did its job quite well. The water just soaked into the fabric: Hooray! Simple design. Not a luxury but I don't mind using them for cleaning jobs and if they get dirty at this price what's the difference? What I don't care: green isn't my style, but it's just a personal thing and doesn't count in my star rating - I just don't need water. I don't mind white and even thought they might make some awesome rags to keep in the guest room where I have other white towels and rags - I bleach them. Overall I'm pleased and would consider buying another pack of these in a different color to keep in the small log cabin. I would have a little in the kitchen, a few in the cleaning closet and a little in the guest area.
