I have been a Pearl Izumi customer for decades. So of course I took their gloves into consideration when buying new ones. I've had several pairs of PIs in the past. My hands in particular went numb as my old, worn gloves lost their padding (old gloves are not made by Pearl Izumi). So I did a lot of research and read product reviews and decided to revisit the Pearl Izumi line. I chose the gloves for their padding to quell numbness in my hands and fingers during long rides. Pearl Izumi knows that not only is padding important, but POSITIONING the padding so it doesn't compress the critical nerve in your palm. Once again, Pearl Izumi offers the perfect design. Another benefit of this glove design is the flaps on the strategic fingers to make it easier to remove the gloves at the end of a ride. After such a long hiatus (I bought gloves from another manufacturer after a few recent purchases) I was a little surprised by the new design of a pair of strategically placed "flaps" on some fingers to make it easier to remove the gloves at the end. end of the journey. I didn't think they would be effective but they really are great and the placement is completely unobtrusive. Yet another new design feature (well, new to me) that works. Highly recommended. And for the naysayers, I'll admit: no, the numbness doesn't completely stop when the trip officially gets "long" (e.g. more than three hours), but these gloves are the best at reducing numbness. all gloves on the market.
