Review on Westcott Safety Knife (16475) with Slice Ceramic Blades by Carl Movahed

I've been using it for a few years. I recently bought a replacement for a lost one. I order a lot from Revain, it's very convenient and saves money. The only negative is working with boxes. I used to use a box cutter but this always made me nervous since I have a small child. Then I found a product from the same company at Walmart with a magnetic backing that sticks to the fridge. The only problem is that it broke every time I dropped it. When I found this, it was the perfect compromise. I don't have to worry too much about it being in the utility box because even if my 6 year old grabs it, it might not do that much damage. The main safety feature is the fact that you have to hold down the slide to use the small tip of the blade. When you grope for the blade, the blade automatically retracts into the body, reducing the chance of an accidental cut. I've seen a lot of complaints about it, but it's not that hard to hold onto during use for the 2 seconds it takes to help you open the box. This is a minor inconvenience for a product that is much safer than a utility knife.
