Very durable and stable. I use this every day. With thin knives, however, pay attention to the tip for blade care.

I'm tired of boards that warp, slide, wobble and make cooking a chore (or even risky). So I needed a board that was very strong, stable and big enough for a variety of tasks. This board works fine. However, be aware: (1) This board is hefty (about 6 pounds) and large, so make sure you don't mind wrestling with it a bit when you're not holding it on the table. Above; (2) Bamboo feels a bit denser than maple, so you may need to touch up the edge of your chef's knife more often (I have a 1950's carbon steel Sabatier chef's knife). You can save the blade with a light touch, which works great if you handle the blade properly. And all knives should ALWAYS be treated properly, which I learned in Boy Scouts 63 years ago. A few positive points: (1) This board lasts. it is very good to chop with a knife, which I often do; (2) In addition to being lightweight, it is easy to clean, which is important when working with chicken; (3) It comes pre-assembled. The manufacturer recommends wiping down with edible mineral oil or an equivalent every 30 days. (Note: you can get it in the laxatives section of your pharmacy). The board can be used from both sides. One side is flat and the other has a drip groove. Some reviewers have complained about the depth of the groove, but I didn't find that to be a problem.
