The term "e-book" (also e-book, English e-book) is used in relation to a book containing information of a regular book, but presented in digital format and placed on an electronic medium (CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, etc.) ...

The growing number of publications (the so-called information explosion) raised the question of storing such a large amount of information before libraries. The emergence of electronic publishing and the Internet makes it possible not to print information in the form of paper books, but to store it in much more capacious electronic media in electronic libraries, providing access to it both locally and remotely - through the World Wide Web.

Books in this form have both their pros and cons, but, due to some inconvenience of existing systems for reading e-books, preference is often given to traditional paper books, supporting their production at a sufficient level.
