This system was actually cheaper to buy than replacing the cartridges in my Watts reverse osmosis system. It works very well and produces 0ppm water. For drinking water, an activated carbon filter must be retrofitted at the outlet, since 0 ppm water also has no taste. The charcoal raises the dissolved solids to around 30ppm, but the water tastes great. When using a water storage tank, a check valve must be added to prevent the tank from flowing back through the reverse osmosis medium and leaking out of the waste line. I also installed an adjustable valve in the sewer line to reduce the flow to 10 ounces per minute. It's a 2:1 ratio and has worked well for me over the years. The only problem I had was a matching leak on one of his cartridges. I had to remove the fitting, wrap many turns of teflon tape around its threads, and install it in place.
