These holders make grinding the railing and deck spindles easier. The grip was comfortable, but gloves are still a good idea as you can scratch your hand on the metal clip if you lose your grip. The soft surface helped with even sanding. They're a bit short for the sandpaper we bought, but we folded one end and the metal clips held the paper firmly in place. We've sanded over 50 feet of railings and spindles and these brackets look like new. I don't know how long they will last but they did a great job for the job.
