I bought this in pink. I needed a small handbag for a wedding, better than everyday but not as classy as a cocktail clutch (no glitter etc). That's great! Holds exactly what you need to take with you (wallet, phone, keys, lipstick, powder compact, napkins). Some notice the smell. Yes, I did notice when unpacking that there was a slight odor, but it wasn't so objectionable that I had to take it outside. If you buy something in a store, this item has had enough time to air out. Since it was shipped directly to you and has probably been in the package for a while, the smell is more noticeable. Just unpack, open, let air out and the smell should be gone in a day or two. I really love this bag and the stitching and trimmings are spot on.
