Today I received this device. It's metal, looks pretty sturdy, and didn't work at first. Eventually I discovered that the battery had a thin plastic protective cover that was so tough I didn't see it right away. I've tried charging and inserting the battery to no avail. After I removed the plastic cover, the light works fine. I will mainly use it for curing resins like Bondic. I like the fact that the beam can be focused or expanded. I also like the fact that this is a single LED with no white, red, blinking etc modes. That means when I turn it on it's a constant UV light, nothing more. I recommend it. Remember, if it doesn't work at first, locate and remove the thin plastic around the battery protecting the terminals. .
