I bought this tool to fix a permanently broken chair with a spring in the wrong place (for repair work). My regular furniture repairer (whom I pay a lot to hire for shabby furniture!) recommended that I learn to do my own repairs and showed me his version of this smart tool. It works great and seems very strong. My mechanic said this was a very good example of a spring hook tool (I had to keep an eye on mine to make sure it didn't end up in his tool box haha). Remember this is a MINI nib. hook tool. If you need something more, this is not for you. But for small springs like those built into a chair, that's just the right size.
