Update: I've been using them with 2 guinea pigs for almost a year. They're obviously not fluffy anymore, but they're holding up really well and they still love them. I have 4 which I turn 2 at a time to wash the dirty ones. I wash all of these at least once a week, so after 50+ washes and ONLY air drying. I use fleece pieces and the original insert. I change them every other day. They really deserve 5 stars. My guinea pigs love it. They pee like crazy where they sleep. These beds hold urine and need to be washed frequently. The small pad that comes with the kit is useless. It stays so wet upstairs. I believe these beds will hold up to many washes themselves as I've already washed them a lot in a month. The inner pads fall apart because they have a foam bottom (see picture). That was after washing. You didn't chew it up. The pad is also very thin, so the animal stays moist. I'll find something else for bed. That's why I gave three stars.
