Insert into CD slot and turn wing nut. Insert the ball joint into the bracket and tighten the threaded mounting nut. Unfortunately, the locking nut needs to be tight or your phone will fall out. A button on the back opens the side brackets. The bottom bracket goes down. A slight design improvement would be if the brackets were curved to prevent the phone from falling out so easily. It doesn't look like the air conditioner vent mount on my car will work as the vent is only half an inch to secure it before it hits the blinds.
