I bought this paddle as a replacement because mine sank! I had an AquaPlus paddle that came with the surfboard. I liked the shape and style of my original and it matched almost perfectly. I love how you can open the latch and raise or lower the handle. I wanted the strong latch that this one has and I didn't want to spend a lot. This paddle was one of the cheapest in the style I was looking for. This is a great paddle, reliable and works well. The only difference is that it's a little heavier than my original. It's noticeable, but I'm getting used to it. I searched and researched the paddles day and night for a week before settling on this one and am very happy with it.
