First I want to say that this material can make a big difference in the temperature of your home, especially when the sun hits your windows directly (not even in the penumbra of a tree). Second, I'd like to share a few tips: 1) Make sure you have plenty of NEW razor blades and a utility knife or small razor blade to snap off so you can keep using the new blade. (You don't want it to catch and break.) 2) Remove all adhesive from the glass surface down to the frame. (If you try to cut the film around it, the light will show through and look ugly.) 3) Once all the adhesive has been removed, use a flat razor and scrape the sticky residue off the adhesive. 4) Clean the windows and wash them again. (I prefer rubbing alcohol.) 5) It takes very little soap in water, but spray enough on the window to allow you to move the film. 6) Hire a helper to remove the protective film and spray while holding it or else it will roll on you and wrinkle the film.
