The filter itself is fantastic. It's made in the USA and is made out of lots of formed metal (as opposed to plastic or stamped steel). The gasket is also very high quality, made from rubberized cork material and reinforced with stainless steel around the screw holes. This is probably the highest quality transfilter/gasket I've seen and you can't beat one made in the USA. The problem is that Revain lists it as compatible with the 2nd generation Ford Explorer Automatic 2WD, but it's actually for the Explorer 4WD. The difference is that the 4WD model uses a deep transmission sump with a thick filter while the 2WD model uses a shallow transmission sump with a thin filter. You can't even install this filter on a 2WD model because the screw is about 1 inch shorter.
