These socks have a lot of stretch above the ankle, but that's where the stretch stops. My father is a size 13 shoe. His legs are very swollen as are his shins/ankles. They sit well above the ankles but the foot of the socks stretch very little and are too tight. In addition, the anti-slip area only covers 3/4 of the foot. So if you have an average foot size without severe foot swelling, this is normal. Don't buy for big swollen feet. It won't work and could wreak havoc on an already compromised system.
