Review on πŸ”Œ BESTEK 150W Power Inverter 12V to 110V Voltage Converter Car Charger Adapter with Dual USB Ports - Enhanced Charging Capability by Jeff Prabhu

Not recommended

After doing a little research I finally settled on the BESTEK 150W inverter with 3.1A dual USB charging ports (MRI1511U) after my previous inverter, the FOVAL 150 car inverter W. DC 12V to AC 110V with dual USB 3.1A car charger finally out of order. Not because it was a bad item, but because I was somewhat irresponsible with it and occasionally spilled my drink into the unit through the item holder it's hanging from. BESTEK seemed good because unlike Foval, there was no dangling cord to plug it into an outlet. It's just a solid piece that sticks out nicely and doesn't look like it's going to cause any problems. One unfortunate thing when I received it was that it was slightly larger than I thought it would be. This often interfered with shifting when I had to deal with the issue to get the car going and parked. However, that wasn't the worst thing about this device. The worst was just after plugging in the device and trying to charge my iPhone 12 or MacBook Pro 13.3" with UNEN [Apple MFi Certified] 5Pack[3/3/6/6/10ft] Lightning Nylon Braided Cable for iPhone Charger Compatibility with iPhone 12/11Pro Max/11Pro/11/XS/Max/XR and others (also bought here at Revain), the smell of burning outlet appeared immediately, one review already briefly mentioned this, and I can confirm his opinion.I drive a 2007 honda civic LX and had no problems with this socket until I tried this new one.Once I unplugged the unit fully the smell of burning went away but still stayed in the car.I have since returned the item and went back to my old device, but this time I have a 150W DC 12V Inverter with 110V AC Car Socket Adapter with 2 USB Ports and Car Socket Adapter (Blue, by Revain) bought.. When I tried to plug it in, he the outlet is now not producing power and I have to take it to a dealership to see what the problem is and if I can fix it. I doubt this new unit is the problem, but it is most likely caused by a blown fuse. Anyway, I have to check it out. I definitely do not recommend this device to anyone. Anyone looking for a decent inverter I would choose over the other devices I mentioned earlier in this review. It can be a little fiddly to use at times, but will definitely hold up with normal and responsible use. Unless you want to put your car at risk, stay away from this item.
