I unplugged it after two days. At first it seemed like a great idea, but then the remote required a line of sight which isn't specified anywhere (who writes instructions more than Amirite) and I had to rearrange them and I couldn't change modes on all sides of the room. It's plugged into the only USB port behind my TV so I'll have to find another power source for my Chromecast as this cable is so short but to be honest, . Every time the TV is turned on, it starts up in this horrible strobe mode. Who over 14 always wants a flash behind the TV? To be fair, it should automatically set to whatever you had last, or a random ambient color. No Christmas disco.
