First of all, now that the filter is working, I'm happy with it. I only gave it three stars based on everything going on around the filter. First of all, there were no instructions in my box. I've tried finding a PDF version online and haven't had much luck so far. Luckily, there are videos on YouTube that show you the whole process. All the necessary parts were in the box but there were two broken prongs on the skimmer component. I put it aside and decided to order a replacement, but I can't find a replacement yet and in the absence of a manual I don't have a parts list or contact information to call for help. The commissioning process took much longer than expected as the intake and exhaust pipes were labeled the other way around than they actually were. I spent the longest time trying to get everything to work and when I finally watched the video closely I realized that my labels on the device were reversed and I had to swap the ports on the handset. Not a big deal when I found out about it, but if mislabeled it was added to the process. It now works for my 55g tank and apart from the issues mentioned I'm happy with it. It's not too noisy and circulates the water well through the filter. I would like a copy of the instructions and instructions for replacing the skimmer component if anyone knows. I didn't feel it was worth sending everything back for that single component, but I probably should have. I'll leave it and add the fish soon. :)
