These little shoes are left over!

I recently adopted a cute two year old homeless Yorkie from the local Humane Society. They found that her legs were tender. As the weather got hotter here in the Midwest, she started crying as soon as we stepped onto the sidewalk that led from my door to the hot tub. So I started looking for small booties. What a difficult task, as it turned out! These fun little booties were the eleventh type of paw protector we tried. And they definitely work great for us! Yes, two extra long velcro straps on each boot is a real problem, but we kept going. My little miss sits happily on my lap while I put booties on each paw and sort the velcro. Now we've mastered it! It's worth the effort, but you have to be careful to tighten the straps on each leg. My dog's paws are so tiny that the Velcro goes all the way around. But it works! The belt position is perfect for us. She was a bit hesitant at first, but she went! We walked up and down our street in the midday sun just to see them protecting their paws. They stayed and didn't slide for us. Mind you, this is a petite little dog who won't try to walk around in his booties. I will now order another available color (green). My only caveat, aside from saying strips are killer until you have a plan, is that those very Velcro strips make the usual annoying velcro noise when you work with them. Turn off the system. If your small dog is generally sensitive to that snapping sound, these booties may not be for you. As long as my dog has cookies, he's doing a good job with velcro. These are NOT snow boots, nor are they what I would call wet weather boots. We only need them for protection from very hot sidewalks. I hope I can find such warm winter shoes!
