Review on πŸ§₯ Women's Grey Lightweight Quilted Coats - SUNDAY ROSE, in Coats, Jackets & Vests by Jim Bethea

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Warm, soft jacket of good quality. Narrow in the hips.

So I wrote a star rating first and then lived with this jacket for a week. Here it is in a nutshell. It's a normal jacket, not bad, not great. I got it for a $20 deal with something and am happy with it. Don't think it's average or high quality for $30. So if you can get it at a reasonable price please say so. He should last a while, but it looks like he'll only last a season or two. It's surprisingly warm and has a very comfortable fit, except for the unusually narrow waist area, which some other reviewers also noted. (The attached picture is deceptive. It looks like it's on display. It's not. It's unbuttoned and just lies there.) It's soft and not bulky. Slightly longer than 3/4 just to cover your mouth. Nice deep zipped outer pockets as well as a functional zipped inner chest pocket and low front pockets inside which I find very useful. The soft strap on the neck is also practical for hanging on a hook. Sufficiently long arms with elastic bands at the wrists that cut the wind but didn't pinch at all, at least for me. When the zipper is fully closed, there is an extra piece of fabric on top of the zipper so it doesn't cut your throat. They have carefully designed this jacket and you will appreciate the usefulness of these extra details. Fits great everywhere except the hips and I have a medium top and bottom. Very little lighting. There's something, but not much, and it will likely suit all but the women with the straightest of hips. As already mentioned, nice design details. The zippers are not very smooth. There is a feeling that they will not withstand too much wear and tear, maybe a season or two. Lots of loose threads that can be trimmed. The actual sewing seems solid so far, just think of the threads. I really do not know it. The fabric on the pockets is quite thin and care must be taken not to tear or puncture them. In general, the design looks okay. I bought a dark blue with a slight sheen. Phone and computer monitors sometimes change things up, so who knows, but I have a matte navy blue that looks like the material and color shown on some hooded models. This can be a problem in some cases, but I bought it for more useful purposes, so "not so posh" doesn't matter here. Also, whatever dyes or fabric/dye combinations are used, they sometimes look almost purple in bright sunlight, which I didn't want. In less intense lighting, however, it looks dark blue. Overall I'm somewhat satisfied with this purchase. It works for the most part, but the thighs are so tight that I wear a zip-up sweatshirt underneath and leave it open most of the time. A friend commented on how cute it is and I think it's true. It's cute, warm and, to me, a semi-functional jacket with a few flaws. If I had paid more I could return it, but what I paid is certainly useful enough to keep and I will be buying a more expensive one to fill the gap.
